Pitbull is a Cuban-American rapper and one of pop’s most dependable hitmakers, known as “Mr. Worldwide”. Born Armando Christian Perez on January 15, 1981, in Miami, he started out battle-rapping before turning into a global party-anthem machine.
Mr. 305 to Mr. Worldwide
His early albums built a club-ready sound, and Rebelution (2009) broke through with “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”. Planet Pit (2011) brought his first number one, “Give Me Everything”.
Global hits
Global Warming (2012) carried “Feel This Moment” with Christina Aguilera and “Get It Started” with Shakira. His guest spots on Usher‘s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love”, Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” and Enrique Iglesias’s “I Like It” kept him on the radio.
Timber
In 2013 he reached number one again with “Timber” featuring Kesha, a chart-topper in eighteen countries. “Fireball” and “Time of Our Lives” followed.
More than music
Pitbull won a Grammy for his album Dale and built a business empire, including the Mr. 305 label and a network of SLAM charter schools. He even had a Florida university stadium named after him.
