Charlie Puth

The pop singer, songwriter and producer behind See You Again, Attention and Light Switch, with a trained ear and a run of platinum hits.

Charlie Puth is a pop singer, songwriter and producer with a trained ear and a run of multi-platinum hits. Born Charles Otto Puth Jr. on December 2, 1991, in Rumson, New Jersey, he studied jazz piano and graduated from Berklee before YouTube covers led to a record deal.

See You Again

After the 2015 duet “Marvin Gaye” with Meghan Trainor, Puth co-wrote and sang on “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa, a tribute to Paul Walker from the Furious 7 soundtrack. It spent twelve weeks at number one and earned three Grammy nominations.

Nine Track Mind and Voicenotes

His debut album Nine Track Mind (2016) included “One Call Away” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Selena Gomez. Voicenotes (2018) followed with “Attention” and “How Long”, leaning into the retro pop and R&B sounds he loves.

Charlie

His third album Charlie (2022) processed a breakup and featured the international hit “Left and Right” with Jungkook of BTS, plus the TikTok-launched single “Light Switch”.

The songwriter

Beyond his own records, Puth co-wrote hits for other artists, including Katy Perry‘s “Harleys in Hawaii” and “Small Talk”. He released his fourth album, Whatever’s Clever!, in 2026.
