Rosalia is a Spanish singer and songwriter from near Barcelona, born in 1992. A classically trained flamenco singer, she reinvented the tradition by blending it with pop, hip-hop and reggaeton.
El Mal Querer
Her second album El Mal Querer (2018) began as a university project and became a landmark, winning the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year and landing on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums. Its singles “Malamente” and “Pienso en tu Mira” drew international attention.
Going global
“Con Altura” with J Balvin (2019) passed a billion views, and she recorded “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” with Ozuna the same year. “TKN” with Travis Scott (2020) became her first US Hot 100 entry.
Motomami
She worked with Bad Bunny on “La Noche de Anoche” and gave reggaeton an experimental twist on Motomami (2022), making her the first woman to win the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year twice.
Always changing
In 2025 she shifted again with Lux, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, with lyrics in more than a dozen languages.
