Cardi B

The Bronx rapper behind Bodak Yellow, I Like It and WAP, a record-setting female rapper with a blunt, charismatic delivery.

Cardi B went from reality TV personality to one of the most successful female rappers in history, all on the strength of a blunt, charismatic delivery. Born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar on October 11, 1992, she grew up in the Bronx and built a following online before turning to music.

Bodak Yellow

After two mixtapes she signed with Atlantic and released “Bodak Yellow” in 2017, which hit number one and became the first diamond-certified solo song by a female rapper. The hit set up her debut album.

Invasion of Privacy

Invasion of Privacy (2018) opened at number one and made her the first solo woman to win the Grammy for Best Rap Album. Its singles “I Like It”, with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, and “Bodak Yellow” both topped the Hot 100.

The big collaborations

She has stacked up number ones and team-ups, including “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, the chart-topping “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5, and “Finesse” with Bruno Mars. With five number-one singles she holds the record among female rappers.

Am I the Drama?

After years of anticipation she released her second album, Am I the Drama?, in 2025, led by “Outside” and “Imaginary Playerz”. She remains one of the most-streamed female rappers on every major platform.
